Dr. Peter van den Honert is Chair of the Music Department, and Director of Choral Activities at
Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where he conducts the University
Singers, and the University Chorale. He also teaches classes in Choral
Conducting, and serves as faculty advisor for a student chapter of the
American Choral Directors Association. He has a special interest in New
England folk songs, and has published several choral arrangements of
New England folk tunes. Prior to his appointment at Edinboro he held a
similar position at Kansas Wesleyan University; he also taught middle
school and high school music in the suburban Chicago area for nine
years before earning his doctorate at the University of Missouri@Kansas
City. He is active as an adjudicator,and has served as a festival clinician
