FAUXMERCIAL #4

DATE: June 9, 2004
TO: Webex Corporation

Dear Sirs:

Lily Tomlin's antics may help promote your product to some people, but the parody of the great sacred work, the "Hallelujah Chorus" by Handel, as part of that advertising will ensure that many others will be so offended that they would never consider using your services. That would include our company. We have posted this example of a FAUXMERCIAL on our website which receives thousand of hits from music lovers. We ask you to withdraw your commercial from the media. The use of "Hallelujah" ( which means literally 'praise be to God') in a non-religious setting is for many devout persons a violation of the commandment not to take the name of the Lord in vain. And to use it in your context betrays a colossal lack of taste. We look forward to reporting a positive response from your company.
