Pauline Delmonte was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in music from Syracuse University,
majoring in piano performance with a minor in composition. Prior to moving to California she was a member of the music faculty at
Moravian College in Bethlehem, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. At both colleges she was involved in composing music
for theatrical and modern dance productions.
Although she continued composing after moving to California, it was her husband's request
for a Christmas gift of music that brought about her first sacred anthem, the text a Christmas poem by Melcena Burns Denny,
that led to a "whole new world" for her.
Currently she lives in Camarillo, California and continues to write choral music—with a special emphasis on children's choirs—and
music for two-pianos, handbells and small ensembles.
